About the role
AMP Engineering is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator & Truck Driver to join our growing team in Vineyard NSW. This is a full-time position that combines the operation of plant machinery with truck driving responsibilities on construction and civil works projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and safe project delivery across our operations, working on-site at various construction locations in the Sydney area. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to work with modern equipment whilst contributing directly to the success of our project teams.
Key responsibilities
Operating excavators and other heavy plant machinery safely and efficiently on construction sites in accordance with all safety regulations and best practices
Driving and operating tipper trucks and other vehicles to transport materials and equipment to and from project sites
Maintaining daily equipment logs and reporting on plant condition and any maintenance requirements
Conducting pre-start checks on all plant and vehicles to ensure they are in safe working order
Working collaboratively with site supervisors, foremen and other team members to complete projects on schedule
Adhering strictly to all workplace health and safety requirements, policies and procedures
Operating equipment to precise specifications and in accordance with site plans and supervisor instructions
Assisting with site cleanup and the safe positioning of equipment at the end of each work day
What we're looking for
Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence or equivalent, with a proven record of professional truck driving experience
Current Excavator Operator ticket or qualification (minimum Competency Based Training or equivalent accreditation)
Substantial experience operating excavators on construction and civil engineering projects
Proven experience as a truck driver, ideally with tipper truck or side-tipping vehicle experience
Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation and a demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliability and professionalism, with a strong attendance record
The ability to work in challenging weather conditions and on various terrain types
A current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
Preferred: experience with other plant items such as graders, dozers, or compactors
